A new collaborative piece from Duncan Chisholm and Donald Shaw, beautifully accompanied by members of The Scottish Session Orchestra (Clockwork Sessions).
Donald Shaw has written this beautiful melody which is superbly portrayed on this recording through the evocative fiddle playing of Duncan Chisholm. Recorded at the City Halls, Glasgow this track is sensitively layered with accompanying strings provided by the acclaimed Clockwork Sessions; a world class ensemble comprising the principal players from Scotland’s leading orchestras.
As we navigate these difficult times and in absence of live music performances being able to go ahead, Duncan is promoting #COVIDCeilidh on social channels – Instagram / Facebook / Twitter. With a view to staying connected and providing a positive focus for family, friends, for those feeling vulnerable or isolated, for everyone to listen to and enjoy short but perfectly formed music clips from the strong, solid traditional music scene in Scotland and from musical friends around the world.

The mighty Celtic Connections Festival previously commissioned Duncan’s exclusive concert at the iconic Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. You are perhaps aware that this concert was recorded and released as Duncan’s Live at Celtic Connections album.
In the run up to Celtic Connections 2020, Duncan will release previously unseen film footage from this concert, via his YouTube channel. A video clip to accompany each track from the album will released every day, during the run up to the festival, starting Wednesday 8 January.
