The culmination of six years work, The Strathglass Trilogy - Farrar, Canaich and Affric, is Duncan’s musical representation of the ancient Chisholm Clan lands. Part 2 – The Strathglass Trilogy. A delight for folk fans and another testament to one of Scotland's finest musicians. Canaich switches fluidly between jubilant jigs and reels, to the sublime lyricism of Chisholm’s slow air playing. He is the consummate master of the melancholic with a purity of tone that evokes the voice of the ancients. There is swagger, jubilation and sensitive imagination in this outstanding recording.

Part 1 – The Strathglass Trilogy. As magical as the mountain which inspired it, Beinn a’Bha’ach Ard in the Strathglass area of the Highlands of Scotland. Awarded ‘Album of the Year’ at the 2008 Scots Trad Folk Awards, Farrar is a succession of atmospheric ‘tunes-as-tone-pictures’. Chisholm’s magnificent playing has a silken eloquence concealing a great depth of emotion within the notes and the phrasing. During the time that this 2nd solo recording was being put together, Duncan was spending lengthy periods of time in the north of Spain. The result is a fascinating album filled with colour and passion.
